MedSuite was formed to develop,
market, and implement anesthesia and medical practice management software. Potential
clients include anesthesia medical practices, medical billing services, MSOs, and
other organizations that have the need for such a product. Combined, the
principals of MedSuite, Inc. have over 60 years of experience in medical
practice management software development in general and anesthesia
software in particular.
The principals of MedSuite operated a medical billing service,
primarily with anesthesia clients. The
billing service used an anesthesia billing software product that was past its prime and
considered "old technology". It was a legacy product that was
difficult to maintain, difficult to train, and did not readily or easily
support "teleworking" and the distribution of workload among
employees in different locations. Most importantly, for a billing
service trying to survive on a sliver of an ever-shrinking pie, the
legacy product was relatively expensive.
The medical billing service was faced
with the classic dilemma... Is the next practice management software
system going to be built internally or bought externally? All of the
available products were lacking in one respect or another with regard to
the billing service's requirements. They either lacked the feature-set
required by an organization billing for multiple specialties including
anesthesia, or they were too expensive, or they couldn't handle a large multi-client operation
like a billing service. Since the experience and capability to build a
new product was available in-house, the decision was made to build.
