Some of the database tables in MedSuite represent a standard list of codes or descriptions. These standard code sets may be an industry-standard code set such as the ASA Codes or the Modifier Codes, or they may be something that are more or less self-evident such as the list of Gender or Sex Codes (Female, Male, or Unknown). Therefore, the Standard Code Sets can be thought of as either code sets defined by some outside entity such as HCFA/CMS, the American Medical Association (AMA), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or other such organization.
